Parent Education & Workshops
Parent education and workshop opportunities in Niagara County are supported through several local agencies and family resource programs that offer free guidance, training, and support groups for caregivers. These services help parents strengthen skills, understand child development, and connect with community supports through workshops and informational sessions.

Parent Network of WNY
Parent Network of WNY offers a variety of free workshops and events that help parents and caregivers build skills, learn about special education, and connect with supports across Western New York, including Niagara County.

Mental Health Assoc. of Niagara County
The Mental Health Association in Niagara County provides community education programs that include workshops, trainings, and presentations on mental wellness topics for schools, families, professionals, and the general public.

Parent to Parent of NYS
Parent to Parent of NYS offers a parent of a person with a developmental disability or special health care need the opportunity to be connected one-to-one with another parent who knows first-hand about the feelings and realities that come with having a family member with a disability or chronic illness.

PAX Community Tools

Active Parenting
This interactive and entertaining program uses videos, activities, and discussion to show ways to raise responsible, cooperative children who are able to resist negative peer pressure.
Hidden Mischief
Alcohol and substance abuse prevention and identification program available for parents, guardians, caregivers, & individuals who work with adolescents. Take a virtual walk through our simulated teen bedroom and search for hidden drugs and paraphernalia, while learning about popular concealment methods.

Postpartum Depression Support Group
The Postpartum Depression Support Group provides emotional support, education, reassurance, and professional referral resources for new mothers experiencing depression or anxiety, with monthly in-person meetings at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, where babies up to one year old are welcome, as well as access to online support and national women’s health information resources.
Postpartum Breastfeeding Classes & Expectant Parenting Classes
Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital and Health Care Center provides postpartum breastfeeding classes and expectant parenting classes, along with comprehensive women’s health services, including maternity care.
CHOICE
The CHOICE Family Resource Center offers EPIC parenting classes as well as nutrition and cooking classes through a partnership between Niagara Community Action Program and Cornell Cooperative Extension, with a focus on building family strengths and supporting healthy child development and community engagement.

Fostering Good (New Directions Youth and Family Services) provides foster care, residential treatment, mental health, and family support programs that help children and families build stability, strengthen relationships, and access community-based services across Western New York, including Niagara County.
HEARS Family Line
The OCFS HEARS Family Line (Help, Empower, Advocate, Reassure, and Support) is a statewide resource that connects families to trained representatives who provide referrals and support for services such as parenting education, child care, housing, food, and behavioral and medical health care needs.
Early Intervention Program of Niagara County
The Early Intervention Program “Child Find” for Niagara County provides free developmental screenings, evaluations, and early support services for infants and toddlers ages birth to three who may have developmental delays or disabilities, and connects families to appropriate therapies and resources based on their child’s individual needs.
Healthy Families Niagara
Pinnacle Community Services provides free, voluntary, home-based support for expectant parents and families with infants, offering parenting education, child development guidance, and connections to community resources to promote healthy family growth and stability.
P3 Center for Teens, Moms and Kids
The Women Planning Pregnancy Parenting Center at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center provides free support services focused on family planning, pregnancy care, and parenting, including health screenings, prenatal and postpartum support, breastfeeding assistance, parenting education, and referrals to community resources to help improve outcomes for mothers and children.
The Every Bottom Covered
Their diaper bank provides free diapers, pull-ups, and wipes to low-income families with children under age three in Western New York, distributing supplies every 30 days through partner sites and its Buffalo location to help address diaper need and support child health and stability.

Healthy Neighborhoods Program
The Healthy Neighborhoods Program is a free Niagara County Environmental Health initiative that provides in-home safety assessments, education, and supplies to help reduce environmental health risks in the home. The program focuses on key areas such as lead poisoning prevention, indoor air quality, asthma triggers, fire safety, and fall prevention to improve overall family health and living conditions.

The Niagara County Department of Public Health provides leadership and community-based programs that protect and promote the health of residents through services such as disease prevention, health education, environmental health oversight, maternal and child health support, and emergency preparedness initiatives.

Hope Speaks Niagara Community Coalition
A countywide initiative that brings together community partners to coordinate prevention efforts related to mental health, substance use, and suicide prevention, while promoting awareness, education, and access to support services for Niagara County residents.
